AbOut Chandler

Growing up

Chandler Vaudrin is a professional basketball player from Northeast Ohio. He grew up in the small city of Uniontown, where he attended Lake High School until graduating in 2016. Upon leaving Lake, Chandler was ranked first all-time in assists and fourth all-time in points. Before his senior season, he committed to play college basketball at Division II Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio.

College Career

After playing two seasons at Walsh, Chandler transferred to Division I Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. During his two seasons with the Eagles, Vaudrin was a leader on the team known for his versatility and ability to contribute in multiple statistical categories. In his junior year, Chandler averaged 9.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game. He continued to excel during his senior year, averaging 12.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game, earning him the Big South Conference Player of the Year award. He was a key player in helping the Eagles win the Big South Conference regular season and tournament titles in both of his seasons with the team.

Rookie Year(s)

Upon graduating from Winthrop, Chandler decided to forego his eligibility and declare for the 2021 NBA Draft. After going undrafted, Chandler was signed as a free agent by the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2021 NBA Summer League. He appeared in 3 games for the Cavs, but suffered a torn ACL that abruptly ended his first professional basketball season.

Chandler spent the rest of the 2021-22 season in rehabilitation for his injured knee. After completing a successful rehab, he signed a 1-year contract with the Cavs G-League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge. In his rookie year with the Charge, Chandler averaged 5.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.

As a Pro

After his Rookie year in Cleveland, Chandler had the opportunity to play summer basketball in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). He signed with the Edmonton Stingers of the CEBL in May of 2023.

In the Fall of 2023, Chandler was traded by the Cleveland Charge to the Motor City Cruise. The Cruise are the G-League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons and are located in Detroit, MI.
